Begun in the late 1990’s, back when the artist was a middle school science teacher, and finally finished after five years of on and off work, “Michael” as it has now come to be called, started out as an oversized study of the human skeleton. The piece took on the name “Michael” when a friend saw the piece for the first time quipped, “I see Michael is in place diligently protecting all those who enter the property from the evil that might like to do all of us harm!” The name stuck. Replication is possible utilizing this process. But, my desire is not to replicate. It is to create original pieces.
